We love little Lanie, and her 6 month session is one of our favorite baby sessions to-date! A few months ago, we were privileged to hear Amber Holritz speak on Lifestyle Baby Photography, and it was as if a giant lightbulb had gone off inside our heads! All this time, we’d been approaching portraits as we thought they should be done–cute little outfits, props, off-camera lighting and homemade black & white backdrops. Sure, there were some creative lifestyle elements thrown in, but it was much more “portraity” than lifestyle. That’s not to say that the posed approach is bad, but just that it wasn’t really consistent with our style and mission of capturing real life through our imagery. After hearing Amber, and after gaining valuable feedback from past clients (who told us that their favorite images were actually documentary moments of them with their little one), we realized that it was time for a change. The result? Lanie’s 6 month Lifestyle Baby Session. We absolutely love this session and are excited about photographing many more in the comings months!
