I have been so excited to share this wedding with you…we first met Merion at Weddings in Woodinville two years ago and immediately connected with her – she had a background in art, an eye for great photography, and a passion for serving others. We met Bagley a few weeks later, and after that we knew for sure that we had to work together. Thankfully they agreed. 🙂
Little did we know at the time that they had secured a world-renowned botanical garden for their wedding venue! Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island is one of the Northwest’s hidden gems – a gorgeous country style French European home with views of the sound graces the property, it boasts an award-winning Japanese garden designed by Seattle native Fujitaro Kubota, and if that’s no enough, it has an expansive ethereal moss garden which alone is worth the drive over. All that to say, if you haven’t been, you truly owe it to yourself to plan a day trip just to relax and rejuvenate in the tranquility of the reserve.
Merion and Bagley’s day was warm and sunny, with blue skies and a twinkle shining off the water down below. Merion looked absolutely stunning in her gown from Gabriella’s New York, and friends and family flew in from the east coast to help the couple celebrate the beginning of their new life together. The day was full of unique elements – a cocktail hour in the Japanese Garden with a traditional Japanese Koto player, a processional of the guests to the ceremony led by kids waving colorful streamers, white and green florals with fern fronds and dahlias to celebrate the flowers of the northwest, and a ceremony officiated by a good friend of the couple. Jacky Grotle of NW Event Success made sure the day went smoothly from start to finish, and a wonderful time was had by all.
We felt truly blessed to be able to capture the entire weekend for Merion and Bagley, and hope you enjoy the photos we put together to share with you.
