A few weeks ago, Airika and I went out to the San Juan Islands for a little family vacation, and on the way back we stopped at Deception Pass State Park to meet up with Lee and Elicia for their engagement session. We love that area, and had been wanting to shoot out there for quite some time, but not everybody is up for a 2+ hour drive each way for their engagement session. That’s why Lee and Elicia were such a perfect fit–they’re the kind of fun-loving, quirky, go big or go home people who are up for anything. Need more convincing? Jump over to our Facebook page and check out the preview from their wedding this weekend–I’d say that description is pretty much summed up by Elicia’s beautiful tattoo. And speaking of going big, when we shot their engagement session, I just so happened to have a 400mm f/2.8 lens on loan from Canon. In general it is way too cumbersome for portraits, but it was a fun challenge and we got some amazing pics with it!

Lee and Elicia, we loved working with you, and we can’t wait to share your wedding photos with you in a few weeks as well!
